WebThe Government of Ontario released its third Poverty Reduction Strategy in December 2024. The five-year strategy was developed with valuable input from the public and stakeholders and sets out the government’s plan for addressing poverty throughout the province. The strategy is built on four pillars: Webcommunities. Local communities across Ontario feel the impacts of poverty firsthand. As the order of government that is most directly connected with its residents, municipal governments are becoming more involved with poverty reduction efforts, with some going as far as creating local poverty reduction action plans and strategies.
