I would go with a reissue alnico 10 of some sort. Fender used both Eminence or Jensen Alnico 10's in the 4-10 Bassman, RI Blues Deville and VibroKing amp. I forget which ones got the best reviews. They are the Alnico versions with: - Square blue Fender label (part number 064121) - The speaker baskets are (from what I can see) stamped "F7 48" (only). There does not appear to be any other code on the baskets (maybe it has rubbed off?).

WebThe original Super Reverbs are known to have a nice chime and mild overdrive at band volume and can get decent crunch. The ultra linear will be clean all the way up to punishing volumes. Super Reverbs are a non starter for me because of the size/weight. That is any era. I do like the sound though.
